God is good and it's a delight to know Him and grow in Him. My story of faith in Him (from my perspective) began when God saved me from His wrath when I was around 10 years old. At summer day camp, I heard a devotion about the details and purpose of the crucifixion, I knew I desperately needed to trust Christ as the only possible option for salvation: the God-man to redeem us before His holy Father. My good-boy, moralism-driven life in Raleigh wasn't enough and it's not for you either. I trusted Christ and always will. But God didn't stop and doesn't for you. Since then, He has been radically changing me which authentically equips me to serve Him and you.
God allowed me the privilege and responsibility of marrying a sweet and full-of-life lady named Vanessa who actually laughs at my jokes. We met at NC State but didn't start dating until after we graduated. She and I have enjoyed years of conversation about how God’s people can grow in substance AND responsiveness to Him. We have a hilarious little girl named Maddie who keeps us laughing and in shape.
I grew up in North Raleigh. Both Vanessa and I received B.A. degrees from NC State and then attended seminary at Dallas Theological Seminary graduating with a Masters of Theology in Pastoral Leadership (Mike) and a Masters of Christian Education in Women’s Ministry (Vanessa). At our church in Dallas, we started and led a college ministry and enjoyed being a part of vibrant community plus state-side and overseas ministry in Dallas, New Orleans, Jordan, and Kenya. After we graduated, we moved to Elgin, IL to train for 8 months with Harvest Bible Fellowship to plant the 40th Harvest Bible Chapel and the first in the south!
My passion is for God which means my passion is for a strong church (a people) who is committed to Him and therefore ALL others.
