Several times a year, I have the privilege of joining now more than 40 Harvest Senior Pastors for fellowship events in Chicago. Last week we gathered for several days to refuel and to work with James MacDonald on a new book he is writing (quite an honor).
The highlights for me, and for the other pastors I've talked with, were the conversations that occurred during breaks, on the bus, at meals and in lobbies. We talked about joys and difficulties and our call to faithfulness regardless. We discussed how to plan for high-impact worship services. We reaffirmed and sharpened how to keep our churches vibrantly healthy and spiritually productive for all. Each of us are leading churches that are at different places, but we all have the common courage to lead churches that honor God and do not water-down His call for the church, which is counter-cultural unfortunately.
