Preaching to Harvest staff

Yesterday, each of the Training Center for Church Planting pastors preached to the staff at Harvest.  It was the final day of the 8-week preaching phase of our training.  This phase has been incredible.  I took three preaching classes at DTS and it has been remarkable to me how much I've learned at Harvest about preaching! 

My sermon went well!  I preached on Ephesians 4:7-16 with the exhortation: USE YOUR GIFTS!  It was a fun sermon for me because I love the function of the church and making sure it IS FUNCTIONING as Christ would have it.  It is always a blessing to verbally glorify Christ and explain yet another grace He has given us (grace = gift without any merit of our own!) so that we may serve Him while the Father allows us to tarry on this planet.  You have gifts to use in the church ... do you know yours and how are you devoting yourself to becoming better at them (1 Timothy 4:14)?  Church planting is a great way to empower your gift and enjoy the product! 

Hopefully, we can get the sermon online soon, but it might not be until after this coming week because Vanessa and I will be in North Indianapolis on deployment with Harvest-N. Indy.
