Prayer Night

Posted by Mike Willis on Thursday, September 09, 2010.

This week, we are really emphasizing prayer at Harvest.  One of our 'pillars' is "Believing firmly in the power of prayer".  We are accomplishing this through personal praying and fasting, Small Group praying, and large group prayer last night.

When a bunch of people get together to pray for an extended amount of time (1 1/2 hours!), God does some neat things.  Did we have a list of things to guide us in prayer?  Yes.  Did we pray for all of these things?  Yes.  Did the Holy Spirit direct us all to pray certain things above others ... absolutely.  We prayed a TON last night about boldness and repenting of passivity about the grace we know through Christ.

On Sunday morning, CJ, our worship leader, reminded us that revival never occurs without repentance, personal revival, city revival, national...international.  This was the message of Moses, Elijah, John the Baptist, Jesus, Peter, etc...

When God's people pray, when God's people really pray, we understand who God is and how needy we are for Him.  We capture how great He is and how He desires to do glorious things through us, His servants.  Through this, we cannot help but confess how we fall short of proclaiming Him through our lives in a greater manner.

Prayer is a grace from God ... communicating with our Creator and He talks back through clarifying our worship of Him and our boldness for Him.  Thank you Lord.  Press on in this, Harvest!
