Harvest-North Indy

Vanessa and I returned this afternoon from a week with Brian and Laura White in north Indianapolis, IN.  Brian is the pastor of Harvest-North Indy.  He and Laura have 4 kids, the youngest of which are twin boys!  Our time with them was thoroughly beneficial as I spent my days with Brian and his staff while Vanessa spent her days with mommy/women's director Laura. 

Brian answered all of my questions and gave me some helpful pointers about where to focus attention at this stage in our core group.  We attended their small group on Tuesday night, I attended the HBCNI leadership team meeting on Wednesday night, and on Thursday night, we went on a double date with Brian and Laura.  We did a lot of laughing!  We laugh about the same things and our marriages are a lot alike.  It was a great time.

I spend part of the day on Thursday with Doug Helmer and his staff at Harvest-West Indy.  They took me to the theater where they worship on Sunday mornings and explained to me their set-up.  Their theater manager allows them to use a storage room in the building so they didn't have to buy a trailer.  They renovated the room so when all equipment is out on Sunday morning, it is used as a kids room!  What a blessing. 

Please be praying for wisdom as I consider prayerfully who to appoint our worship leader.  There are several candidates and this is a vital position in our church.  I spent a lot of time this week talking with the various pastors about this decision.
