The Lord is providing for His work in Raleigh! Part of our worship to the Lord is supporting His church with our whole lives: making disciples, using and developing our spiritual gifts, speaking the truth in love, wisely spending our time, edifying one another, and GIVING of our God-given finances. Throughout Scripture, we read that our giving to the Lord should be the FIRST fruits of our income. The best of the herd was chosen for sacrifice, the appointed portion of the grain harvest would go to God first (and by the way, the poor would glean the leftovers from the harvest), and the widow gave her mite which she could have easily spent elsewhere. Our financial offering to the Lord and His Kingdom work through the church should be the first to exit our income, the first written check of our budget months or weeks, and the giving should always be sacrificial. This way, we do not spend that money that should go to the Lord on other, temporary things. This is an important and rewarding discipline, advocated by Scripture and proven by fruit in hundreds of generations past!
Although, as Pastor, I will never know who is giving what amount so Terri Quaid with Harvest Bible Fellowship added the giving. I am pleased to let you know that $2100.00 was given for Harvest Bible Chapel-Raleigh on Thursday night! What a blessing and what a testimony of the people already committed. A young, newly married couple from our college ministry in Dallas, sent $250.00, as well!
