Healthy families communicate well. Yesterday, we had our third Harvest Family Chat. Harvest, here are the bullet-points if you missed it. Visitors, here's how we evaluate our ministry.
Affirmation:
Great job loving one another, especially Jenny Azzopardi! "They will know you are my disciples by your love for one another." John 13:36. Lives are changing through our Jesus-centered mutual ministry! We have six people joining Harvest: Chris and Linda Chuang, John and Debbie Friar, and Craig and Beth Horstick! Many of you are serving the LORD with fervor and zeal ... Amen. Keep it up - Harvest is healthiest when we are all serving and encouraging one another and those around us. You serving serves everyone!
Pray for:
Christ for Harvest (see earlier blog)! True Christianity (desperate faith in Christ producing authentic transformation)! If we pray for a bigger church and Christ-centeredness is compromised, we've gotten ourselves into idolatry rather than true Church.
Spiritual strength (Christian worship, walk, and work occurs through spiritual strength, not only physical).
Revelation 2-3 is one of the most inspiring and fearful sections of Scripture. In these letters to the seven churches, Jesus evaluates each church according to their belief in Him alone, their doctrine according to His Word, their persistence in true faith, and their fervor for good works (the kind flowing from belief, not behavior). He leaves no room for cultural Christianity.
Let's be singularly fixed on vertical approval and not horizontal approval. Jesus' commendation is what matters and as we are truly a church for Him alone, many will be compelled by His glory through our lives!
Let's all be praying for the conversion of others which occurs after we speak and spread the greatness and graciousness of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit! "One generation shall commend your works to another!" Psalm 145!
