Classic Winnie the Pooh

Posted by Mike Willis on Thursday, January 05, 2012.
One of my favorite things about being married to Vanessa is how great of a mom she is. I remember before we had kids, she would talk about making the theme to a daughter's room "Classic Winnie the Pooh". She had to teach me the difference between "classic" and whatever the alternative is. Since then, Maddie's room has as its theme "Classic Winnie the Pooh" though Aurora, Cinderella and Belle are giving Pooh some heavy competition.

Yesterday morning, when Maddie was getting out of bed, she asked me to read "that blue thing/book". I pulled from the shelf what she was pointing to and found enclosed four pop-up Classic Winnie the Pooh books. Copyright: 1926! Woah. She was so enamored that Pooh, Roo, Piglet, Eeyore and Christopher Robin still have their heads (pop-up books). They were fantastic. Clever stories, simple messages, curious fun, and restful friendship. I was more entertained than Maddie. Go Vanessa. Your vision is realized.
