I was reading John 5 this morning and was struck by verses 45-46, "There is one who accuses you: Moses, on whom you have set your hope. For if you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote of me." As you might recall, it was Moses who chiseled the 10 commandments from God onto those tablets. That chiseler will say to you, "Those chiseled commands were meant to point to Christ ... you've put your trust in the preface of the story." Moses was sharing the Gospel with us.
Additionally, do you really obey the 10 commandments? Do you know what they say ... you shall have no other gods before me, etc? If you've slipped at all in these, which you have, you need a God-man Redeemer. That God-man is Christ. A perfect man because He is God. The 10 Commandments prove to us our inability and our need for the Savior. Trust Him today.
If you are saved through Christ alone, use a passage like this to turn another's pages of Scripture to the only Redeemer.
