4 Areas of Extreme Importance

Posted by Mike Willis on Friday, November 21, 2008.
1)  Prayer.  Church planting, as with all ministry, is a work of God.  For our efforts to be fruitful, God will have to bless them.  We must be on our knees before God.  Church planting requires committed, compelled, and contagious people.  Prayer is what causes these characteristics, and by the way, crazy = faith!  Be praying.
2)  Downloading Harvest DNA.  This occurs through the core group meetings, open houses, DVDs we watch of James, and our trip to Harvest University from April 27th-29th (mark your calendars and set aside some money!).
3)  Getting a cumulative $150k in the bank.  We need to be giving and giving sacrificially.  Use the future church plant as your end-of-year giving.  We will spend half of this in one day for Portable Church (all of our equipment for sound, children's ministry, etc), some of this will be spent on an office space we will start leasing next summer, the facility we rent (~1k/week), and salaries (me, part-time worship director, part-time admin).
4)  The numerical growth of our core group.  In order for #3 and the work we hope to accomplish requiring the prayers of #1, we'll need more committed people just like you!  Be bold to talk with people you know who could be committed, compelled, and contagious.
