37 weeks, 2 days!

So happy to hear the core group meeting went so well last night.  We're moving right along!  The Lord is good!

It snowed at least three inches in the last 18 hours!  One of my many specific memories of Vanessa's godliness occurred when we were finishing college and it snowed during the night.  Me and my roommates, ready to play in the snow, got up and rushed over to Vanessa's house with her roommates, and found them disciplined to read their Bibles before playing in the snow!  Yep, they made us look really bad.  Amen.  Vanessa was reading Job 38:22, "Have you entered the storehouses of snow?" during which God is proving to Job His supremacy over all things.  Job, nor any of us, can enter such heavenly storehouses because we are not supreme over creation!  We controlling, individualizing humans need all the reminders we can gather of our necessitated bowed head before our maker.  If you want a God-Is-Supreme lesson, read Job, chapters 38-42!

About Jesus, the Creator: "He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn (receiving the Father's inheritance) of all creation.  For by Him, all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible or invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities--all things were created through Him and for Him.  And He is before all things and in Him all things hold together."  Colossians 1:15-17

After confession of sin and repentance (turning away from sin, but mostly turning toward God), we can sing with David, "Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow."

Praising our great God who has done all of this to save us,
